DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND RIGHT FOR RESIEDENCE

Any married women who has been treated cruelly by her husband or his parents or his relatives or his siblings and if the said married women has undergone Domestic Violence by way of Physical or Economical abuse or in any other manner described in law shall approach the court of law for monetary reliefs, protection orders including residential orders etc…

In regard to the residential orders any married woman who has been aggrieved by Domestic Violence in her Matrimonial Home have an exclusive right to seek reliefs from the Court of Law. For directing even her husband to remove himself from the Matrimonial Home and find an alternative residence for himself as per section 19(1) (b) of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and the same relief may also be obtained through an injunction petition in divorce proceedings and other manners known to law based upon the merits of any particular case.
